Red Hot Chili Jam - New Jersey Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute Band Ice Cold Chili Peppers Band

What's With The Name?
The band was named to recognize the freeform jams that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are known for playing as part of their live performances.
Listen out for our take on some of these sweet and tasty jams!
Meet The Band
"Playing these tunes in headphones has been fun, but playing them with this band melts my face right off" - Rob, Drums

Robbie - Guitar
About: A born and raised Jersey boy, Robbie developed an interest in music at a young age. He played the trumpet in school band and took private piano lessons, but everything changed after he heard the Red Hot Chili Peppers, particularly Californication live at Slane Castle.

From that point forward, Robbie knew he wanted to be a guitarist, and his endless obsession with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Frusciante has since become a defining personality trait.
Robbie began the band with Rob after connecting on the r/RedHotChiliPeppers SubReddit and was shocked to find out that they not only shared a name, but lived only 15 minutes apart.

Influences (besides the Chilis): Tame Impala, The Beatles, Pinegrove, Title Fight, Green Day, Rush
Number of times seeing the RHCP live: 11

Favorite RHCP song: If You Have To Ask (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)

Joey - Vocals
About: Hailing from Weehawken, NJ - Joey is the middle child in a family of musicians. Both his Mom and Dad are vocalists (Dad’s band “Finish This” is still going strong since 1984), so he grew up on the stage and has been fronting various bands since High School.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were always among his top 5 bands growing up, but they quickly ascended to his favorite after seeing their Slane Castle performance.

Influences (besides the Chilis): The Beatles, The Raconteurs, Oasis, The Grateful Dead, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, Tom Petty, Wunderhorse (check them out!), and almost any other 90s rock.

Number of times seeing the RHCP live: 9 - 4 times in 2006, 3 times with Josh, 2 times since the second return of JF (aka "Guitar Jesus").

Favorite RHCP Song: Depends on the day, but lately “Parallel Universe” (Slane Castle version).

Rob - Drums
About: Rob/Robert/Bob - not to be confused with Robbie - is a die-hard RHCP fan and was listening to them even in utero (thanks Mom!). He received a Californication CD as a 6th birthday present (not sure how appropriate that is for a 6 year old, but again, thanks Mom!). He also remembers watching the Slane Castle concert as a child too, not fully understanding what he was watching.
Rob started playing drums in middle school mostly reciting Metallica, then once again fell into a black hole of all of RHCP’s music, fully appreciating the ability of the many musicians involved with the band.
(Shout out to his other band @cloudtapes)
Influences (besides the Chilis): King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Pantera, Metallica, Led Zeppelin
Number of times seeing the RHCP live: 7

Favorite RHCP song: Sir Psycho Sexy (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)

Nathan - Bass
About: From Stoke-on-Trent, England (the childhood home of Motörhead's bass-smashing singer Lemmy and Guns n' Roses guitarist Slash), Nathan had a mostly rock-based musical upbringing.
But, after discovering Flea and Bootsy Collins as a teenager, Nathan got bitten by the funk and now loves to get down on 'the one', drive the groove, and slap and pop his way over the neck. He's also a hoarder of pedals and has far more than he needs.
Official "Dad" of the band.

Influences (besides the Chilis): Parliament/Funkadelic, Jamiroquai, Free, The Who, Motown, Queen, The Beatles

Number of times seeing the RHCP live: Only once - but since it was back in 2001, he wins the OG award.

Favorite RHCP Song: Aeroplane (One Hot Minute)
